Well, I got sick & tired looking a the tin of Brown Sugar Flake I got. You see, the word is it can't be smoked out of anything but a panel. So the search began, and I finally found what I think may be a suitable vessel to enjoy an occasional bowl of BS. I went with a birth year Dunhill.

Picked up this Royal Comoy's Supreme Patent 30 after seeing it in the background for another listing. It will still need a ton of work on the stem, but I couldn't resist cleaning up the bowl and getting it looking nicer...It is going to be a real looker when done. Based on what I found on Pipedia this pipe looks to be from the late '40's, but if someone knows something I don't, please speak up. This one will be put up for sale or trade...PXL_20230921_021825178.PORTRAIT.jpg

When I first went to the local tobacconist shoppe to get a cob and some tobacco I saw these St. Patty day pipes with the Irish flag bands and have wanted one since but I wasn’t sure if I was even going to keep pipe smoking so didn’t spend the money. So I keep seeing Jiminks 264 and figure if he smokes it that much it must be a decent tool but my BM doesn’t have the 264 in the store so I found this one overseas at GQ and it was the last one. Great price at $97 shipped! I think it’s cool as heckView attachment 220751
The 264 is a great smoker, I have one or two. It will serve you well, and knowing Jim smokes one makes it even better,

Today’s mail: 2 ounces of TK-6, 2 ounces of PS303, and a Randy Wiley “Old Oak” bent Dublin. The pipe is a substantial size (most of my Wileys are, but this one’s exceptionally bigger) and at 7.6 inches long definitely into demi-churchwarden territory. But, despite the size it’s really lighter than it looks and easily clenchable (for me anyway) and a most interesting overall shape with multiple elements. The bowl is a Dublin for sure, but also has a plateau top (Danish inspired?) and a view from the top reveals a squished oval shape like a Savinelli 904 / 921 that they add to a Dublin (Italian inspired?). The shank is round and in proportion to a Lovat in length along with a saddle stem (Canadian family). And the acrylic stem most definitely resembles the Dunhill Cumberland coloring. It’s like Randy pulled in different international inspirations while he was making this thing, but to me it all seems to pull together nicely (I do like quirky unique pipes for sure). The overall shape (to me) leans towards a bent Dublin / Lovat style, so perhaps a “Bent Dovat”? Anyway, I like it and await a bit cooler weather in a few days to start putting some HGL / Ghost of Frog Morton / Edward G Robinson’s through it. I added my Zippo for perspective in the photo. Also, I seem to have acquired a grove of “Old Oaks” at this point, how many trees before it’s considered a forest?
