That stem is horrible, but the shank looks legit, the bowl appears to have been spliced on and crudely rusticated to cover the seam.

The stamps look fine, the butchered bowl is the big problem. That's not factory.

The root brier looks legitimate, but with a replacement stem.
The shell pipe is just the opposite, stem looks good but the bowl looks very off… for several reasons as you point out.
At any rate, I don’t believe the pipes were made the same decade so the nice case may be an unrelated latter addition.

Most is the ‘sandblast’ on the shell looks more like rustication than a typical Dunhill blast on this pipe.

We aren’t supposed to assign values here. But I’ll say that the case is nice. The shell is a loss. Can’t imagine anyone wanting it. The Root Briar looks okay and can probably pull a middling unrestored Dunhill price. As a group I give it a meh.
