Meer tolerance for overheating

I’m fairly new to meerschaum, and one situation I’ve thought might be great is smoking in the wind. I’m always hesitant with better briars for fear of overheating and cracking them or getting a burnout. Is meer more resistant like it seems, or is it also susceptible to damage from overheating?

Thanks!

P.S. as I’m heating up a new meer in the wind!

Provided it's block meer I wouldn't worry about the wind.
Pressed meer, definitely a cause for concern.

No overheating nor smoking in the wind can damage a good quality block meerschaum. Try yours to give a test :)
Thanks, Sinan. That settles it for me... straight from the horse's mouth as they say (no offense intended!).

I have been doing just this with my Altinok meers lately, and have nothing but positive experiences to show for it.
