I have a beloved pipe, inherited from my grandfather, that suffered damage in a recent move. It has great sentimental value. Losing the original stem is a bit of a blow, but losing the pipe altogether would be a much bigger blow.
So, where were you turn to get a replacement stem made?
I've had very good luck with Tim West over the past couple years. Super fast, very reasonable, top notch work. He's a nice guy too, and I really dig the funky pipes he makes.
I had a quick turnaround and a great stem, at a very reasonable cost from Walker, but that's been 4-5 years now, nothing current.
George Dibos makes artisan level replacements, but they run over $100 and there is a long wait time (well, there was).
