Wet Tobacco? Really Light Your Pipe!

I'd be curious to know if others (or even any other) go that same route?

A good percentage of the time, on the night before I'll pack a larger bowl (MM General, for example), give it a charring light and, depending upon how I feel, puff a bit before deliberately putting the pipe down before I go to bed. Early the next morning when I totter into the office with a cup of coffee, I'll give the tobacco a gentle tamp, kiss it with the flame, and Bob's your uncle. Works really well for me.
I’ve heard of and also tried this delayed gratification technique, but it’s not my jamb. Glad it works for you though!

That's actually impressive & makes me incredibly nervous.
You can see im leaning forward just in case! I did it for a minute but it isn’t comfortable and I burn my clothes enough as it is. Did I never mention how I caught my car on fire driving the freeway in the morning commute? LA traffic and not like I could just pull over real quick like! Napkins i keep between my seats igniting and filling the cab with smoke!

Well, I had considered doing a pipe during the commute thing, but not anymore after hearing this…

How’s the wind cap working out? I forgot to throw one in last time I bought a few things. Does it help out any with the wind?
Yeah it functioned great, actually!

My complaint is that it’s difficult bordering on painful to grasp and squeeze the little ‘wings’ in and that could just be the particular one I have.

I was nervous about the inside ‘claws’ scratching my briar, but so far, with care and the limited use time, it’s not been an issue.

I would not feel comfortable using it on a meer. There may be better quality ones out there, though.

for countering the wind and allowing me to smoke safely and at a comfortable temperature, it did perfectly. And it was VERY windy.
