What is your experience with this style CW pipe?

Here is a pipe and specifically the stem I would like talk about.

So I have a pipe that smokes very nice.

But as you can see the stem is almost dead level straight. I am not sure what to do with it and have been tempted time and time again to sell it. As I was browsing Peterson CW pipes and others I stumbled across the first picture. It’s intriguing and I am considering bending the stem on my pipe to match or be similar. I will stick a pipe cleaner down the draft hole, build a custom jig and pour boiling water over it to soften it and then tighten the clamps to form it.

So the big question. Does anyone smoke a pipe of the above shape? How does it compare with a more traditional CW? Wondering how or if there is any problem with the square to forward canted bowl holding or dumping ash.

Thanks.

I have no experience with the pipe in question but just wanted to add that a heat gun is also a quick, clean way to bend a stem, no jig needed.

No problem what so ever, the PSB is my most smoked pipe this summer.
I'm a clencher so the bowl is never ever horizontal anyway.
I have more demi/semi CW:s with similar bend and lenght, love them all.

I've been successful with bending and re-shaping vulcanite stems after pre-heating
the whole pipe in my owen.... around 15-20min in 70-80 degree celcius (160F).

...have to say minus one on the heat gun, I've managed to destroy two stems before I gave up and switched to using my oven.
I both over heated on the surface and not enough all the way through... but that's me.
Anyway I strongly recommend to give it a try on a basket pipe/stem before the actual target.
