Do you have to approach making a pipe from Morta differently from that of briar?
I make the shank a little fatter, and try to orient it with the grain running down the shank, that's about it. When I turn it, I just take off a little at a time. It can be hard to turn without tear-out, and when sanding it feels like a solid block of fiberglass, if that makes sense.
